Obviously all games have restrictions, but then the argument becomes what should the restriction be, not whether there is one at all or not. But obviously thats not the case, considering all of the different tactics you can use, which have nothing at all due to durability!Īlso on a side note, Im sorry but when you forcibly take away an option I am using, that is not encouraging anything, thats forcing me, which is weird considering this game is about freedom supposedly. But according to the pro durability crowd, you for some reason would never do these things, unless you had breakable weapons. Things like using Metal Objects with Magnetism to smack enemies, pushing boulders on top of enemies, using bombs to blow off enemies, all these things which people consider variety to combat have nothing to do with breakable weapons. Not a single time in this game have I ever played differently simply due to a weapon breaking. If I decide to use a spear instead of a sword, which actually has practical application for longe range pokes, I would be using that weapon regardless if durability existed or not. Im not fighting any differently, since most of these weapons are so similar to each other. When I am fighting a group of enemies and my sword breaks, Im going to just pick the next weapon available and do THE EXACT SAME THING that I was just doing. Basically all of these weapons will have the exact same moveset as any other weapon you pick up in the same category. A two handed sword has the same moveset as a two handed club. A 1 handed sword has the same moveset as a 1 handed club. It encourages variety - Im just baffled at this. Explain a tiny bit how I would (But before I do, I just want to say that while I would do some changes to the game alongside of getting rid of durability, I think the game is actually perfectly acceptable just toggling off the durability in something like CEMU for example, makes the game so much better imo) Explain why I think the Durability system does so much more damage to the rest of the game than initially thought. The list of arguments people use to defend the durability system and my counters to these popular arguments. What I want to talk about here are 3 main things 1. Ive seen countless arguments on various forums saying that BOTW would simply not work without weapon durability and frankly I think every single argument falls apart when scrutinized.
